Anti static bags or conductive boxes provide ESD sensitive devices with protection from electrostatic fields and discharges whenever they are outside of the EPA Area. Protection can be achieved by placing the device in a material with a conductive layer, giving a Faraday Cage effect. ESD packaging will also often provide mechanical and contamination / humidity protection.
