Manual and semi-automatic splicing tools for tape joining

Antistat SMT splice tools are designed for accurate, repeatable carrier tape joins on electronics assembly lines. Our range covers every stage of the splicing process, from cutting tape to the correct pitch through to applying shims and completing the join.

The SMT manual splice tool uses shim clips to join carrier tape reels and is suitable for all standard tape widths, giving operators precise control for lower-volume or field splicing. For high-volume production lines, the semi-automatic splice tool uses a stapler-style mechanism with bandolier brass shims, completing a splice up to 10 times faster than manual loading. Before joining, splicing pitch scissors cut carrier tape to the exact pitch required for smooth pickup and placement – available in single or dual pitch models for tape widths from 8mm to 56mm.
